American composer and producer Walter Afanasieff visited Kazakhstan for the first time to take part in an international project produced by Dimash Kudaibergen, as reported by our website in collaboration with DimashNews.
The two-time Grammy Award winner made his way to Turkestan, where Dimash Kudaibergen, in partnership with Hunan Broadcasting System, began his show.
This international project features artists from countries including China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Malaysia, and Serbia, and is titled «Voice Beyond Horizon».
Afanasieff, known for producing the iconic song «My Heart Will Go On,» joined the jury alongside other esteemed international experts. He expressed that visiting Kazakhstan had been a long-held dream of his.
«It feels like a place where you just want to live. The people, the cuisine, the climate, and the landscapes—everything has left a lasting impression on my soul,» he remarked, adding that Turkestan has become one of his favorite cities.
Throughout the filming, the musicians toured significant sites, including the Azret-Sultan complex, the Otrar settlement, the Karavansaray tourist complex, an ethno-village, and the Sairam-Ugam National Park.
The production will proceed in the Mangistau, Almaty, and Akmola regions, along with the city of Almaty, culminating in the capital of Kazakhstan.
