Notable performances in the top 10
Great Britain’s Andrew Musgrave showcased an outstanding effort, leading for much of the final lap before narrowly missing out on the podium.
“It’s promising that reporters want to speak with me after a race; this is the first time this season. I haven’t performed well so far,” he joked as reporters approached.
“I felt great initially, but hitting the wall dramatically on the last hill was frustrating. I completely stalled in the final 10 meters. I had excellent skis, but there was no way to glide those last 25 meters to the finish,” Musgrave reflected after his fourth-place finish.
Additionally, Calle Halfvarsson from Sweden put in a solid performance, finishing sixth and making a strong bid for one of the last two spots for the 2022 Olympics in February.
This afternoon, the women’s 10-kilometer mass start skate race will take place.
