В Москве в рамках Форума туристических территорий подвели итоги ежегодной премии SKI BUSINESS AWARDS-2025, recognizing the top performers in the Russian ski industry. The winner of the «Best Family Ski Resort» category was the ski resort «Gora Sobolinaya.»
As noted by Evgeniya Naydenova, head of the Irkutsk Region Tourism Agency, «Gora Sobolinaya» serves as a central hub for winter tourism in the town of Baikalsk. The resort management places significant focus on upgrading the infrastructure. For instance, a new chairlift over a kilometer long opened in March of this year, with a capacity of around 2000 people per hour. The lift features 84 six-seat chairs equipped with wind protection screens, reducing the ascent time to just seven minutes. This project was supported by the regional government, with the Irkutsk Region Development Corporation providing the investor a loan of 400 million rubles under a preferential lending program.
“Traveling with the whole family in the Irkutsk region is a tradition for many, just like spending weekends and holidays at the ski resort in Baikalsk. ‘Gora Sobolinaya’s’ victory is a well-deserved acknowledgment of their contribution to the industry, recognizing their quality service and innovative solutions. Their sustainable approach to developing tourist infrastructure keeps them competitive in the market. The ski resort ‘Gora Sobolinaya’ has become a brand for Baikalsk, making the town recognizable, which is crucial in promoting tourist destinations as part of the national project ‘Tourism and Hospitality,’” said Evgeniya Naydenova.
