The Ski Classics Season XIV resumes after the Christmas and New Year break with Pro Tour events 4 and 5, featuring the Pustertaler Ski Marathon and the Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge in Italy.
The fourth event of Ski Classics Season XIV, the Pustertaler Ski Marathon, takes place in Sexten, Italy, on January 14, 2023.
Following last season’s successful edition, this 62km long-distance race returns to the Ski Classics Pro Tour. Known as the longest and most challenging ski race in the Drei Zinnen Dolomites, the Pustertaler Ski Marathon presents an arduous course coupled with stunning landscapes.
Pustertaler Ski Marathon
The race kicks off in Sexten and routes through San Candido and Dobbiaco, passing the renowned Nordic Arena cross-country skiing stadium. A Sprint point awaits skiers after 21 kilometers. At the 35-kilometer mark, the Climb checkpoint is located at Cimabanche, where racers turn back towards the Nordic Arena, ultimately heading to the finish line in Niederdorf.

The Dolomites, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site, are celebrated as some of the most stunning mountain vistas globally.
The mountains’ allure comes from a variety of striking vertical formations, including pinnacles, towers, and spires, alongside contrasting horizontal landscapes such as ledges, crags, and plateaus, all rising sharply above extensive talus deposits and gentler foothills.
