A children’s ski school has officially opened in the village of Ak-Bulak, located in the Ak-Suu district of the Issyk-Kul region. This new facility aims to become a hub for advancing alpine skiing and nurturing young athletes in the area, according to the Cabinet of Ministers’ press service.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Edil Baisalov, participated in the opening ceremony. In his speech, he underscored the crucial role of establishing a ski school for the structured training of children and young people, fostering a healthy lifestyle, and enhancing human resources in winter sports.
“This new ski school will serve as a vital platform for developing future athletes along with professional instructors who will be essential at emerging ski resorts nationwide. It represents an investment in human capital, youth employment, and the sustainable growth of our regions,” remarked Edil Baisalov.
The visit included discussions with representatives from youth sports schools, coaches, and relevant experts. They explored topics such as logistical support, coaching education, and increasing participation of children and youth in sports.
From this meeting, key priorities for future initiatives were identified, including modernizing sports facilities, providing support for coaches, and expanding the network of youth sports schools in various regions.
The children’s ski school in Ak-Bulak marks a significant advancement in creating a sustainable athlete training framework and promoting winter sports in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region.
