“The upcoming aviation initiatives are set to position Kyrgyzstan as a vital transportation hub in Central Asia,” declared President Sadyr Japarov during his address to aviation professionals.
The president elaborated on the nation’s ambitious goals within the aviation sector. He announced that groundwork has commenced on what is poised to be one of the largest aviation projects in the annals of independent Kyrgyzstan—the Jalal-Abad International Airport. Located nearby is the China—Kyrgyzstan—Uzbekistan railway, with the new Kashgar air corridor expected to launch by the end of this month.
“These initiatives will elevate the republic into a central transport hub in Asia, unveiling fresh economic and tourism prospects,” emphasized Sadyr Japarov.
He remarked that the upgraded Naryn and Talas airports are now offering passengers enhanced comfort, while Kazarman Airport is on the brink of operation. The Karakol International Airport, along with the Ala-Too Resort ski complex, is anticipated to significantly boost tourism in the Issyk-Kul region. Additionally, a new terminal is being developed at Issyk-Kul Airport, designed to accommodate up to 450 passengers per hour.
The president acknowledged the dedication of civil aviation personnel, noting that their expertise ensures Kyrgyzstan’s skies remain accessible and secure, while the country’s international reputation continues to rise.
“Your efforts represent a crucial investment in Kyrgyzstan’s future. On behalf of the nation, I extend my heartfelt appreciation. The government will persist in supporting the aviation sector,” the president concluded.
