The Kandalaksha-Polar Zori Classic Ski Marathon is a «point-to-point» marathon inspired by the Visma Ski Classics marathon series. The idea of launching this event emerged during the 2016-2017 period to expand the Ski Classics series into Russia. During this time, the marathon route was established. Although it was not possible to elevate the event to a professional level initially, local skiing enthusiasts took it upon themselves to carry it forward.
In 2025, the Kandalaksha-Polar Zori Classic Ski Marathon will celebrate its 5th anniversary. The first edition in 2021 had approximately 30 participants, around 100 in 2022, over 160 finishers in 2023, and 202 competitors in 2024. For 2025, the goal is to attract at least 300 participants.
The ski marathon will take place on April 5, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00 within the territories of the Polar Zori and Kandalaksha regions.
Marathon distance: 55 km.
Skiing style: classic.
