The ski season has officially started in Krasnodar Krai. The opening event took place yesterday, December 26, at the «Krasnaya Polyana» resort.
This winter, tourists can enjoy 65 cable cars and 125 classified trails with a total length of 170 km. Deputy Minister of Resorts, Tourism, and Olympic Heritage Inna Petukhova highlighted that the region’s ski resorts attract hundreds of thousands of tourists each year.
— We anticipate that hotels in the mountain cluster will be 90% full during the peak holiday days. The expected number of holidaymakers in the mountain cluster should be around 80,000 tourists.
This morning, December 27, the administration of the ski complex announced the closure of trails due to avalanche danger. Later, a heavy snowfall began. Initially, skiing will not be possible until the end of the day.
— We have been looking forward to the season opening, and today winter decided to bless us with the promised snowfall! As of now, the ski trails are closed and will not reopen until the end of the day, as the resort staff will need additional time to prepare them for skiing.

Snow has fallen at the «Polyana 540» mark. It is expected to create a good base for preparing the trails at the lower elevations of the resort.
Additionally, from December 27 to January 11, the price for an adult ski pass has increased to 5,250 rubles.
